RADIX: RADAR DATA FORMAT CONVERSION (RDFC)

RADIX is a hardware based device which uses parallel assemblies of field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA) and takes advantage of their inherent high speed logic processing to enable fixed functions to be carried out on streams of radar data.

Radar data function Description

Data format converter

For each inbound radar data stream, the unit will unwrap and reformat each packet of data. The system supports:

  • Serial to LAN conversion (SILO).
  • LAN to serial conversion (LISO).
  • Sample ASTERIX message fields and directly export to a database.

Data concentrator

Multiple inbound radar data streams can be concentrated onto a single LAN or serial output, whilst maintaining channel identity.
